Global climate change is having far-reaching and significant impacts on ecosystems around the world. One of the biggest impacts is an increase in global average temperature. However, not all species are able to adapt or move, so they are threatened with extinction. The possible loss of these species reduces genetic diversity, which is important for the health and resilience of ecosystems. Extreme weather phenomena, such as storms, floods and droughts, are becoming more frequent due to climate change. These natural disasters not only destroy habitats but also affect species’ ability to survive and reproduce. Species living in disaster-prone areas are more susceptible to mass die-offs. Soil quality is also affected by climate change. Rising temperatures and changing rainfall patterns can lead to reduced soil fertility, which can impact agriculture and ecosystems that depend on healthy soil. This negative impact also contributes to food uncertainty and public health. Apart from direct impacts, climate change interacts with other threats such as deforestation and pollution. When natural habitats are destroyed, species have no safe place to live. Land and water pollution, which is getting worse due to unsustainable human activities, is adding pressure to already fragile ecosystems. The use of fossil energy sources and the burning of hazardous materials also emit greenhouse gases, which worsen the effects of global warming. To address these impacts, many countries are adopting policies that support sustainability, such as renewable energy and habitat conservation. These efforts are important for restoring ecosystems and protecting biodiversity. In this context, public education and awareness are also important factors. Increasing knowledge about climate change and its impacts can encourage collective action to protect the environment. This is necessary to create a more sustainable future for future generations.
